Official Age of Steam map
The official Ireland expansion map. A shorter game without Urbanization, where sea-route claims and Deurbanization violently reshape the flow of cubes.
Features
- Official expansion map, best with 3–4 players
- No Urbanization · Deurbanization action instead
- $6 sea routes, limited to one claim per turn
From the most-played classic expansion volume on BGG (950 logged plays): a compressed board without Urbanization where sea routes and Deurbanization squeeze every line.
Special Rules on This Map
- Official 3–4 player expansion map · one turn shorter than standard (9 turns for 3p, 7 for 4p)
- No Urbanization action and no New City tiles. Instead, the Deurbanization action removes one cube from the board just before Move Goods.
- The five sea routes are claimed for $6 as one build. At most one sea route may be claimed per builder turn.
- Scotland and Wales accept both RED and BLUE deliveries.
- Brown cities accept no deliveries but may be used as stops and pass-through points.
- Some printed blocked edges cannot be crossed or built through, as if off-board.
- The Locomotive action does not raise your engine immediately; per the unmodified base rule it allows an engine upgrade in each of Move Goods rounds 1 and 2.
- The choochoo locoVariant temporary +1 engine rule is out of scope (D25) and not implemented.
